AI Grant is a program founded by Nat Friedman (former CEO of GitHub) and Daniel Gross (formerly of Apple and Y Combinator) that provides $250K in funding plus $250K in Azure cloud credits to AI startups via no-cap, no-discount MFN SAFEs. By 2024, AI Grant had incubated approximately 60 companies. Friedman and Gross also deployed the Andromeda Cluster, a $100M+ supercomputer with 4,000+ GPUs, offering below-market compute access to portfolio companies. They later co-founded the $1.1B NFDG venture fund.
